Nancy Pelosi: Prosecuting the Bushies Is On the Table

While Obama has presented himself as cool to the idea of prosecuting the criminals in the Bush Administration, Speaker Nancy Pelosi makes the point that Democrats simply do not have the right to ignore the criminal acts of the Bushies:

Politico: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Sunday that she was open to pursuing investigations of abuses by the Bush Justice Department. “I think that we have to learn from the past and we cannot let the politicizing, for example, of the Justice Department, to go unreviewed,” Pelosi said on “Fox News Sunday.” “Past is prologue. We learn from it.”

On ABC’s “This Week” last Sunday, Obama sounded a note of caution on the prospect of investigations, telling host George Stephanopoulos: “We need to look forward as opposed to looking backward.”

"I think you look at each item and see what is a violation of the law and do we even have a right to ignore it," the California Democrat told Chris Wallace. . We cannot let the politicizing of, for example, the Justice Department to go unreviewed," she added. "I want to see the truth come forth."
