Ron Paul Endorses Green Party & Other 3rd Parties

Ron Paul did a good thing today. The Republican urged his supporters to vote for a 3rd party candidate. At the National Press Club, Paul said he rejected an appeal to endorse McCain and instead urged his 2-3 million devoted supporters to cast a vote for ending the antiquated undemocratic and broken 2 party system.

Paul endorsed Green Party nominee Cynthia McKinney, Independent candidate Ralph Nader, Libertarian candidate Bob Barr and Constitution Party candidate Chuck Baldwin. To get major party status with public funding a party needs to win 5 percent of the vote. With all the alienated and angry voters in the nation this year, it could happen. Paul's 10 minute speech is on the video clip below. Both McKinney and Nader will be on the ballot here in Tennessee. In my view, a vote to save the country is a vote for a 3rd party (Green)!

Barack Obama has no chance of winning in Tennessee, so there is no excuse for progressives in this state to fail to vote on principle.

A huge vote for those running on principle will be a lot more valuable by sending a message that we’ve had enough and want real change than wasting one’s vote on a supposed lesser of two evils.
