Tennessee Lawmakers to Discuss Medical Marijuana Act of 2007
ACTION ALERT: When I found this in my inbox, I thought it was a joke. I thought Tennessee lawmakers shot down the idea of being kind to and saving the lives of sick people by legalizing medical marijuana.
But Tennessee's Medical Marijuana Act is still alive:
The House Health and Human Resources Committee will meet at the Capitol Building on Tuesday, November 13th at 9:00 a.m. in 29 LP to discuss HB 486, the Medical Marijuana Act of 2007.
If you would like to attend, please be sure to arrive early, dress professionally, and come thoroughly prepared with any questions or materials you would like to distribute. If you have a lot of information that you would like to submit, it is often better to put it in writing. Please e-mail MPP Legislative Analyst Nathan Miller at NMiller@mpp.org if you would like help doing this.
Regardless of whether you are able to attend the meeting, please take a few moments to send committee members an e-mail urging them to support a medical marijuana law in Tennessee.
You may also want to send Rep. Sherry Jones (D-Nashville), the bill's sponsor, a word of thanks. You can do so by clicking here. Read more at MPP
