Poll: Americans Don't Like it When Bush Opens His Mouth

Americans liked Bush better before he opened his mouth last week and performed his scary Surge Speech.

Before the Surge Speech, Bush had an overall approval rating of 37 percent. After the scary speech, only 34 percent of Americans approved of the Perpetual War pResident, according to a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll.

Before the speech, 59 percent of Americans disapproved of Dubya's pResidential performance. After the speech, 63 percent disapproved.

Bush could try to increase his popularity by putting some duct tape over his mouth, or he could just keep on shooting off his I'm-the-Decider-boss-of- you mouth and see if he can get into Ripley's Believe It or Not as the most unpopular and despised pResident of all time.

Either way, the prospects for impeachment are looking better all the time.

The poll also found that "more than 6 of 10 back the idea of a non-binding congressional resolution expressing opposition to Bush's plan to commit an additional 21,500 U.S. troops to Iraq."

"[B]y 51% to 36%, those surveyed have more confidence in congressional Democrats to handle Iraq than in the president." Duh. [via]
