Bushies Put Nuclear Secrets On Web & Blame NY Times

The more bizarre it is the more likely it is just another day in the incompetent and corrupt Bush Administration. And everybody knows that the New York Times is responsible for all of Bushie's woes! But providing handy-dandy Nuclear Weapons for Dummies is a bit much even for the Bushies.

Think Progress:

This morning on NBC, former White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card excused the Bush administration’s role in posting nuclear weapons secrets on a public web site, and instead blamed the New York Times for having “advertised” the secrets “to the world.”

According to the Times, the nuclear secrets have been available for weeks despite an incident last spring when information on how to make tabun and sarin nerve agents had to be removed from the site. Moreover, U.S. officials were warned last week by the International Atomic Energy Association that the information available “could help states like Iran develop nuclear arms.” The web site wasn’t removed until last night, after the Times began its inquiry.

Of course, the Bushies posted everything they could find in Iraq because they are still looking for WMD. And, of course, rightwingers are now screaming that all this proves that Bush was correct about Saddam being a 'true threat.'

Ain't life grand and simple when you reside on the Dark Side?

firedoglake - UPDATE: As commenter Prof. Foland says: "Politics can be so easy when you’re unburdened by any knowledge. These documents are from Saddam’s pre-1991 program, which was well-known (it’s the program the Israelis tried to destroy at Osirak in 1981)." Yes, knowledge is so last Administration, isn't it?
