The Descent of King George

King George's approval numbers are falling again.

It's time for all our illiberal friends to put away the bubbly. The record breaking happy days in the high 30's will soon be but a grim memory from the miserable reign of the Boy King.

But look for the release of more bin Laden tapes in a clever effort to tear America further apart via fear and the re-election of the party of selfish fools.

As the Bush Regime knows all too well, the only way for the egomaniacs to win another election is to scare the hell out of everybody, or kill somebody, or both.

So, happy Independence Day, and let's hope we get some this November.

President Bush's approval has slipped from 37% to 35% in the last month.

Time Magazine has published the first set of poll numbers since the Supreme Court ruled that President Bush overstepped his authority because of the Guantanamo tribunals. There have also been at least two Osama bin Laden tapes widely publicized by the media since the Supreme Court ruling. In the past, the spectre of bin Laden has often raised Bush's poll numbers.

It is possible that this poll was taken too quickly after the Supreme Court decision to see the effect of bin Laden's tapes on Bush approval.
