As if conservatives weren't already worried about Bush's 'my little crony' Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers, a little praise from some gay leaders can only be salt in the wide-open wounds.
None of Dallas’ gay City Council members served at the same time as Miers. But they all said they have met her and respect her abilities and accomplishments. All said they would be comfortable with her appointment to the Supreme Court....
McDaniel said he is delighted that the president nominated Miers. “This is as good as we would ever get out of a Republican administration,” McDaniel said.
In my view, there is no way that a longtime confidante of Bush can be anything other than an extreme rightwing crazed Bush follower. All we really need to know is that the woman worships Bush, and she is a woman who is obviously in the habit of pleasing the man. But if conservatives want to fantasize that the woman is a closet liberal, more power to them.
